04 Mar 09 "Cruise Book"

so we had our 1st official Cruise Book committee meeting for the Det Hotel EMFK Detachment...we had lots of discussions and came up with some GREAT ideas...we also decided we are going to do a hard cover book AND a DVD....I don't think most people will watch their DVD more than once or twice, so having something hard cover to look back on would be really GREAT...so we assigned team leaders and I am officially the team leader for the hard cover book...we have alot to get together in a short amount of time, so thankfully my advancement exam will be over tomorrow and I will have some time to devote to the cruise book....

and as they say...it's a SMALL WORLD and a SMALL NAVY...I ran across CAPT Goodman working at the TMC at Arifjan today!!! a little history...he was my 1st division officer in Naval Medial Center San Diego in 1993 and actually came to visit me in the hospital after Sam was born {YEP...16 YEARS AGO!!!!}...SMALL WORLD...and coincedentally we ran into each other AGAIN in Oak Harbor...he has since been to 2 previous commands and now doing 1 last deployment...HOW GREAT to see an old shipmate!!!


wanted to share with you that Kuwait is not ALL sand...these are closer to the city and we don't have any of these where we are, but it is still nice to see the GREEN!



and last but not least this is the ONE picture I was determined to get BEFORE I left Kuwait..the irony...it is TRASH EVERYWHERE just like when I was stationed in Sicily...
