so it is hard to believe that last year this time I was in the desert and Matt was adjusting to being a single parent of 4 very demanding kids! I have to say as hard as it was it was a learninf experience for us both! I suppose if I had to get deployed, Kuwait was the place to be since it is fairly safe and the job was not too demanding....
Jan: I read the 1st book and taped it in DVD for the kids...Abby celebrated her 3rd birthday...finally figured out how to talk to the kids on Skype!
Feb: Ben celbrated his 8th birthday..it actually POURED in the desert...Peyton said "Love You" for the 1st time to me over Skype...I really enjopyed spinning class with Beth....boked our hotel for Vegas!...they got snow in Oak Harbor...we got new Sprint phones...I bought Abby a very cute local outfit from Kuwait {still don't have a picture of her in it!}...Ran into a co-worker,LT Michon, who was headed into Afghanistan!
Mar: Matt celebrated his 38th birthday!...we ordered dodgeballs and had some clinic play in the "dusty room" and I did manage to get a huge bruise, but it was alot of fun!...I got a field trip out to Kuwait city and did some great shopping, it was neat to see the Kuwati Towers...I also meet the CSM of the Army, CSM Preston {he is the highest ranking enlisted member of the Army}...I oficially had to start wearinf my reading glasses!...and I am actaully enjoying the gym!
Apr: Sam celebrated her 16th birthday {without mom :(} but she got a new flat screen TV and lots of cash!...I got a new little point and shoot Sony Cybershot to get me through until I get home... Matt made the kids grilled cheese and nachos and Ben was so stoked!!!...Ben got a black eye at the park! Abby and Dubs got new shoes and I got a wonderful Pool Survival Kit from Marylee {packed with a towel, lotion, handmade bag, and all kinds of other goodies!!!}
May: I found out that I got promoted to E-6!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!...Matt got my NEW camera in the mail!!! I visited Qatar for a little R&R and it was HOT as HELL< but a nice break! I got the best Mother's Day card EVAH {which I now took alot of effort from Matt to get done}...We had another TERRIBLE sandstorm!...I ran into LT Anne Ashton on her way to Kabul and it was so great to see an old friend {we were stationed together in Portsmouth VA before she went to nursing school!}...
Jun: Matt took some great pics with my new camera...I finished up our deployment cruise book {ALOT of work!}...Mailed half of my stuff home {another YEAH}....Abbya nd Peyton are adjusting well at Stephanie's house....I had some special items ordered before I left Kuwait {ring, desert khaki hat, and awesome army came backpack for Ben and my gun belt}... and we booked our beach house for our vacation with the kids to Seaside OR...I finished the Twilight series!
Jul: MOM COMES HOME!!!!!!!!!....Dubs celebrates his 2nd birthday..Tim and Lauren get married...and ti was such a busy month it was hard to keep up!!!!
Aug: same as July with being busy! We headed to Vegas {by ourselves} and had a Fab-U-Lo-US time, then headed to Seaside with the kids after we got back and it was very nice and relaxing! Then I celebrated my 39th birthday!
Sept: 1st Day of school and can't believe Sam is a junior! I am enjoying my Wii Fit that I got for my birthday...Peyton got his 1st haircut...Abby inherited Ben's Manning jersey {and LOVES it, it is her "football shirt"}...and Peyton inherited Ben's Oregon Ducks shirt! Peyton also can wear Ben's Spiderman costume that he wore over and over!!! Peyton also decided that he needed to break 19 eggs ont he kitchen floor!!! Ben lost another tooth! Abby got a busted lip walking back from the park!
Oct: Sam went to Homecoming and actually wore a pink and black dress! I did her hair! We decided to dress the kids as Monsetrs for the Monsters vs Aliens movie and we were Men in Black! I got my new camera lens and am having fun with it, but still learning! I took a daytrip with Judy, Jaci and Connie to the bunny farm to visit and have lunch {it was Fab-U-Lo-uS}...Peyton was just hell on wheels this month!
Nov: It was great to see everyone for Thanksgiving and get a group shot! It was hard to do, but we managed!!!! I took some wedding pics for a friend and me and the girls went to see New Moon at midnight {yes we are dorks like that!}...Ben lost another tooth and I had a really bad day and Matt bought me roses! and I DID go out on Black Friday at 3:30 am! {and if it was on my list and not available, I didn't worry} and I was back home by 8 am! I will do it again next year too, but only with a plan!!!
Dec: What can I say, came and went!!! XMAS was great and we started a new tradition at Grandma and Crampa's! Xmas Eve PJ Party! The kids were wiped out by the time it was all said and done, but had so much fun! We celebrated 17 years of marriage and it just so happened it was the same night as our work Xmas party~We had alot of fun and was a nice time out! We also got to spend a night out with Jeff, sam, Tim and Lauren and it was so great to get to hang with them with no children around! We will celebrate 31 Dec at home since I have duty on 01 Jan 10!!!
