wed: we managed to make it out of town and on the road by 330 pm, which is NEVER happens for us the day before a holiday! made sure Stephanie didn't give them a nap so they would sleep for a litte while and it worked pretty good! We made it to Oregon around 10 pm and decided that everyone from Tacoma was going to Olympia for Thanksgiving dinner!!! that is where we encountered the most traffic
thurs: so I checked out all the ads and made a game plan for "Black Friday"...well just so happens one of my stops that I wanted to make was Old Navy to get some much needed jeans for the kids and Matt. well seems they opened at noon on Thurs and since we are having Turkey Dinner at Grandma and Granpa's on Sat, it was the perfect day for me to go out! so I hit up Old Navy around 1 pm and it was easy sailing!!! I was pretty much in and out and found everything on my list for Old Navy!!!!so I decided to go check out Wal Mart and see if they were going to be having anything special on sale for Turkey Day....NO...but they had ALL of the 5 am doorbusters on the floor with signs that said "ITEM NOT FOR SALE UNTIL FRIDAY MORNING"...so I just strolled around and looked...and then my phone rang and it was Suzanne!!! she had just done the same thing in VA!!! She told me about the Cricut cartridges at Michael's so I told her I might have to check it out Friday and see if there were any left! Told her I was getting up at o dark thirty to shop!
friday: YES, BLACK FRIDAY!!! my plan was to hit up Toys R Us at midnight, but it didn't quite happen so I set the alarm for 315 am...and YES I did write 315!!!!! I made it to Toys R Us and realized I left my ID and debit card in my other jacket at Marylee's so I thought this was a bad sign of how my morning was gonna be!!! so I turned around and came back and then went back out!!! I decided to go hit up Wal-Mart first just to see what it was like....OMG!!! SERIOUSLY, it was INSANE!!! all I did was pretty much walk through and then turn around and walk out!!! but when I walked through one of the isles, there was a group of people sitting at a card table playing cards just waiting for the registers to open so they could check out!!! REALLY????? this was at 430 am, so HOW LONG WERE THOSE PEOPLE THERE BEFORE AND AFTER THEY CHECKED OUT!!! so then I headed to Toys R Us and managed to actually get in and out of there by 515 am! Got everything but Abby's Leapster there, but I am sure I will find it before XMAS, so it was no issue :) so then I decided to hit up Best Buy and actually see if I could find a cheap computer game Matt saw in the flyer!!! You think those people at Wal Mart are CRAZY, the people at Best Buy are JUST AS CRAZY~~~ so I went in and as I am lookign for the game some kid {about 10} walks up to me and wants to know if I want to BUY a Toshiba ticket!!! SERIOUSLY!!! YOU HAVE YOUR KID WALKING AROUND TRYING TO SELL A TICKET FOR A DEAL ON A LAPTOP!!!!...so, NO GAME to be found and out I went!!! ALL I COULD DO WAS LAUGH AT ALL THOSE PEOPLE!!!! so then I decided to treat myself to something and hit up Michaels Craft store {which opened at 6 am} and I was there at 5:45 am and there was only 1 person in line!! MY KIND OF LINE!!! I leisurely shopped and found 2 Cricut cartridges I like, but ended up only getting one that I could make my XMAS cards out off :) then I picked up a few other things and was out of there as well!!! by 6:45 am!!!! SO I figured I would hit up the sock sale at Fred Meyer's ont he way back to the house...wasn't looking for anything special, but did end up getting a couple of kids games {buy 1 get 1 free}, some socks and a few other things and there was really NO WAIT in line!!! So my phone rings about 7:30 am and before I look I figure it is Marylee calling to check on me!!! NOPE... it was Suzanne calling to see how my shopping was going!!!!! Told her it was going great and my earlier endeavors with Wal-Mart and Best Buy! She said she went out and about and did a little more shopping, but ordered some stuff online as well! so then off I went home....
I get int he door and everyone was just getting up!!! Matt said "are you done" "or did you go out and just come back home?" ...NOPE I WAS OUT IN IT AND SURVIVED! and got the deals I was looking for, for the most part! Even though I was tired it actually was nice to be done before 9 am!!! so I did manage to get a nap in around 1-230 pm {while Peyton was napping} and FINALLY got a shower around 4 pm!
side note: just so you all know my mother in law LOVES me because I asked for a Lemon Meringue pie {just out of the blue} and she MADE it!!!!! told her it reminded me of my Grandma! And wait til you see the picture of the pie, it looks just like Grandma Dots!!!! so that's it for now....Matt and Jeff are at the Portland Trailblazers Basketball game, all the kids have had baths and ready for bed....so mom may be calling it an early night as well! will update more tomorrow or Sunday!
forgot to add that Christy Lyle {one of the online gals I do digi design pages for} made this WONDERFUL kit in honor of Tim and Lauren's wedding {as a request from me }...and I can't wait to start sharing LO's with you guys!
