07 May 09 Crunches and Chicken Salad

so I made it to the gym twice today...YAY....I did weights at lunchtime and then did spinning class after work...it's hard but I sure am feeling better about myself and am starting to see how people can get addicted to this exerise thing! I know I missed yesterday and just felt kind of BLAH most of the day....well, our checked cleared for our Oregon Coast beach Rental...YEAH...so it's official we are taking the kids to Seaside Oregon to the beach after we come back from Vegas...just KNOW the kids will have a BLAST! and then we will ALL be TOTALLY wiped out by the time school starts! We heard today that we will probably be leaving even a fewer days than planned :) another YEAH!!! and am I am now trying to eat better so I had a chicken sals with red raspberry vingerette for dinner and have also managed to get up the past 2 mornings and have breakfast to start to boost my metabolism some...so Ro would be proud of me considering she gets up EVERY morning to have breakfast! so that's what's going on with me..hope all is well with everyone else at home :) I have roughly 2 weeks until my R&R...so for tonights pic...a very cute picture of Abby at Deception Pass, twirling her hair {which she does when she is tired and has inadveverntly passed this on the Peyton} and sporting her Disney KWAKS {Crocs}....

06 May 09 Trip To AJ

so we went to AJ for a cruise book committe meeting...it always makes for a LONG day when we have to drive down there and come back....we didn't get back until after 5 pm and I was WIPED out and slept right through dinner...but I did give Matt a call before I fell asleep, he was at home sick, and got a chance to say Hi to Ben before he wwent to school...now Matt's computer is not working so not sure when I will get a chacne to talk to them next :( but hopefully it will be fixed by Monday or Tuesday...so really that was about it for my day ...just VERY VERY LONG...here is my picture that will be in the cruise book ....

05 May 09 Crappy day

at work, so don;t have much to write about today..I had to leave late last night and go pick up someone from their R&R and I didn't get much sleep...but I did make it to the gym at lunch for some weight lifting, so at least I accomplished something today...was so mad after work I just came to my room and went sleep...slept right through dinner :) it's all good...so I guess I will share a couple of pics today since I missed a picture yesterday :)

04 May 09 Spinning Again

back into the routine of spinning!!! I am SUPER SORE from circuit training yesterday, but know I have to keep working through it...nothing really exciting happened here today, I had duty so that means a 16 hour day for me....I am defraging my hard drive becuase my laptop was acting really funny last night and super slow....so that is what the IT guy told me to do, so it is still going and I started it at 3 pm, it is now 9 pm! He said it could take awhile since the last time it was probably done was when Matt did it before I left home...well, hope this helps and now I have it to automatically do it every so often...hope this will also help with my Skype issues...we dropped 3 more people off for R&R today...just means my days are getting closer and closer...I have spent the better half of 2 hours searching for a dress for Tim & Lauren's wedding with NO LUCK!!! SInce it is outside, I am not even sure what to really look for! SO I may just wait until I get home and Sam & I will go shopping for oursleves and get something..she will definetely need a nice dress....well, that's it for tonight...I can't share a picture since I am typing this from a work computer...so nite everyone..sweet dreams :)

03 May 09 Circuit Training

...so I went with Beth today to do circuit training...boy was it rough and maybe I will feel it in a couple of days, but my legs are the only thing that really hurt...tomorrow is weights adn spinning :) so I got a chance to met with Anne again today before she is off on her deployment {hopefully her last}....we were staationed together as lab techs in Portsmouth VA back in 1996!!! and I haven't seen her since she went to nursing school back in 1999 {I think}...it was so good to just chat for awhile, just like it was yesterday that I saw her...hard to believe our kids are 16 now !!!! we are now friends on facebook so I can't wait to be able to catch up with her more..she also added me to her Skype and now we should be able to talk will we are both on deployment....Ro made it to Qatar, called me on Skype while she was having a beer :) Said that got in at o dark thirthy this morning and she slept right through breakfast {and she NEVER misses breakfast!!!}....good to hear her voice, kindda lonely without a roomate, nobody to talk to....called and talked to the kids a couple of times today and will probably call again before I go to bed, shortly....they are watchin "Obbinsons" right now...somebody is coming over to get one of the baby kitties today, so one down and many more to go :) "Nacho" has been missing for over a week now so I have a feeling she has found a new home :( so we have adopted one of her babies, "THOKTH" {which is how Abby says it, but her real name is SOCKS"...I will share a picture later....

so here is the story behind Ben and the elephant ear...

We went to the Tulip festival in Apr 2005 and started our day fairly early at like 8 am...we decided to have a littlesnack and Ben and Matt got an elephant ear to share..well as you KNOW it is pretty much STRAIGHT SUGAR!!!!...so we decided to go to Burlington to the mall and do some shopping and for some reason Ben started sayin "IT'S NOT DA STORE, IT'S NOT DA STORE" and did that NON-STOP while we were in the car driving between stores {Best Buy, the Mall, etc} and on the way out of Burlington {he was STILL SAYING when we went through the Krispy Kreme drive-thru {it is about 615 pm and he has NOT had a nap at all}...and as soon as we turned down the main road to come home...the SUGAR was GONE and hit him like a TON OF BRICKS...he slept for like 12 hours that night!!! so that is the story BEHIND the elephant ear!

02 May 09 Spinning again...

..this makes the 4th day this week that we have spun...and my lges are KILLING me, but I think a combination of weight lifting, ab workoouts and spinning/cardio :) but I know in the long run I wil be sooo grateful she spent the extra time to show me how to get healthy :) we had a little BBQ in our backyard today, was really fun and nice to just relax...but the bug and flies just got on everybody's nerves and so we weren't out there very long....but on our way back home form taking somebody to catch their flight, we saw this dude hanging out by the gate...so of coarse I had my camera and check out his shot!! I know Ben will totally get a kick out of this...



I missed talking to Abby this morning, I kinda overslept so I didn't get a chance to call them and I guess she wasn't very happy {according to her dad}....so I did call tonight and talked to them until it started to get a little crazy there, so I will try and call and talk to them again shortly for a little bit :) and matt got the stuff with the van taken care of and now just has to get base stickers...and our check is in the mail for our Seaside OR beach rental...the kids are gonna have so much fun!!! well, that's it...'nite nite....

01 May 09 Gym x2 AGAIN

...and I am beat..today was leg and shoulder workout with the weights and then we did spin class this afternoon....I am joining the Biggest Loser Contest on base which is going to run from May 2- June 13th.....wish me luck!!! I got to talk to Abby & Dubs this morning but Abby was especially hilarious...

conversation goes:
Abby "Mom, are you there?" {she can't see me on the camera}
Mom: "Yes Abby"
Abby: "But I can't see you"
Mom: "Ok, I will re-start my computer and call you back"
Abby :"'K"
call back:
Abby: "Mom are you there?"
Mom: "Yes Abby can you see me?"
Abby: "OHHHH der you are"
Mom: "You want to see my new towel?"
Abby: "Yes"
mom shows Abby her new pink camo towel from Grandma Lee
Abby: " Mom it's BOOUTIFUL!!!" {I hear Matt just bust out laughing int he background from her enthusiasm over a towel}
Abby: "Where did you get it?"
Mom: "Grandma Lee sent it to me int he mail"
Abby: "Can I see her?"
Mom: "Abby, Grandma is not here she sent it to me in the mail"
can see the wheeels turning in Abby's head, she hasn't figured it out yet
Mom: "Abby Grandma sent it to me in a box {I show her the box}"
Abby: "Ohhhhhh...are you going to open it before you go to work or when you go nite nite?"
Abby still doesn't realize I have already opened the box....
Mom:" See Abby, mom already opened it and Grandma sent me a card with a funny picture of you on it"
Abby: "hehehehehehehe dat's me wiff gwasses...hehehehehehehe...I'm so silly"
Mom: "Yes you are, you are CWAZY!!!"

so that was our conversation for the morning....long day and I am super tired...so here is an oldie but goodie of Ben eating an elephant ear from the tulip festival in 2005...that is a WHOLE 'NOTHER story I will share tomorrow :) matt & Sam will be laughing though...
